Hisense E7NQ Pro (65E7NQ Pro) review
The new Hisense 65E7NQ PRO is a budget-friendly 4K-QLED TV equipped with a single triple-tuner for receiving satellite, cable, and DVB-T2 HD signals. In addition to the sharp 4K Ultra HD resolution, it supports all HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ, which enhances contrast and colors in suitable content.
It’s also smart, allowing you to connect to the internet to stream Netflix, Prime Video, and more without additional devices on the TV. Not only that, the 65-inch (165 cm) 65E7NQ PRO is also suitable for gamers, thanks to its fully functional HDMI 2.1 ports that even support refresh rates up to 144 Hertz.
The package of the Hisense 65E7NQ PRO includes two slim plastic feet, which can be mounted to the bottom of the TV. Alternatively, a wall mount following the VESA standard 400 × 300 can be used. Aesthetically, it’s a slim, flat-screen TV with a barely visible metal frame and a minimalist design.
In addition to the 65-inch screen size we tested, the Hisense E7NQ PRO series is also available in 55-inch (139 cm), 75-inch (190 cm), and 85-inch (216 cm) sizes. The suggested retail prices for the different models as below:
Model Sizes and MSRP
Hisense E7NQ PRO Series:
- 55″: €949 (~$1,001)
- 65″: €1,299 (~$1,370)
- 75″: €1,699 (~$1,791)
- 85″: €2,599 (~$2,740)
Connections and Gaming
At the back of the 65E7NQ PRO, you’ll find connection options, including four HDMI ports, one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, a LAN port, a digital optical S/PDIF output, a headphone jack, and a composite input. One of the HDMI ports can be used as an eARC port to transmit 3D sound formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X without loss. Two of the HDMI ports support HDMI 2.1 specifications.

Gamers will be pleased to know that 4K content supports a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, but this is only available when connected to a PC with a suitable graphics card. The two HDMI 2.1 ports on the Hisense allow up to 120 frames per second at 4K resolution. Additionally, the TV includes HDMI 2.1 features like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), with support for AMD FreeSync Premium. The input lag of the 65E7NQ PRO is a low 12 milliseconds. The advanced Game Bar lets you monitor your gaming status and adjust settings as needed.
Setup and Smart TV Features
Initial setup is required for all TVs, but Hisense has nearly perfected this process. For example, the channel scan runs in the background while you continue configuring other settings, significantly reducing waiting time. In our practical test, the entire setup process was completed in just 10 minutes. Satellite households can choose between DiSEqC 1.0 and 1.2 or Unicable 1 (EN 50494) and 2 (EN 50607). You can connect to your home network via LAN cable or wirelessly through Wi-Fi. Overall, the setup is user-friendly and should not pose any challenges for beginners, while professionals will appreciate the short duration.
The VIDAA U operating system runs on the 65E7NQ PRO in its latest version 7.6. It impresses with clear structures, smooth operation, and a clean, modern design.
Hisense has also equipped the TV with Amazon Alexa and VIDAA Voice, two voice assistants that can be used via the built-in microphone and corresponding button on the remote. The Bluetooth remote control impresses with ten buttons for direct access to streaming services. If a frequently used service is not available, you can program the favorite button for quick access.

Users looking to enjoy apps, games, and video-on-demand services without additional hardware will find plenty of options on the Hisense. Popular streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, WOW, and DAZN are all available. We counted more than 300 apps in the app store, but missed MagentaTV, Discovery+, and Dyn from our reference list. The TV also supports Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, and Anyview Cast, which allows streaming video from an Android device to the Hisense TV.
With VIDAA Channels, Hisense offers its own FAST channel service with over 100 ad-supported IPTV channels, each dedicated to specific themes. When watching TV via DVB, the useful features of HbbTV are also available, including not only convenient access to ARD and ZDF media libraries via the Red Button but also the replay function, which allows you to restart a live program by pressing the blue button. If this feature is not desired, the HbbTV function can be disabled globally or for individual channels.

TV and More
Thanks to a single triple-tuner for satellite, cable, and DVB-T2 HD, the 65E7NQ PRO covers classic linear TV reception well. A CI+ slot allows access to pay-TV channels, and encrypted content can be viewed without a module thanks to integrated HD+. This is particularly practical for households receiving TV via Astra 19.2 degrees East, as they can activate the HD+ Operator App to watch 39 encrypted private HD channels and three UHD channels for free for six months, along with features like restart and a search function.
Recordings on external storage devices are possible via the two USB ports. In addition to direct recordings and scheduled timers through the EPG, the Hisense supports time-shifted viewing via Timeshift. A downside is that completed recordings cannot be edited to remove commercials. Another limitation is that the single tuner does not allow switching to another program during a recording. However, the offered features are more than sufficient for occasional recordings. TV and radio channels can be sorted on the TV or more conveniently with the free “ChanSort” software on a PC.
Picture and Sound Quality
The Hisense 65E7NQ PRO can display 4K resolution with more than eight million pixels, and its built-in quad-core processor (MT9618) upscales everything below 2160p. The higher the resolution of the source material, the better the result, so SDR broadcasts won’t look as good as a 1080p Blu-ray. The 65-inch screen size plays an important role here — the bigger the TV, the more worth investing in HD content. The integrated HD+ functionality with temporarily free access to private HD channels proves to be particularly practical in this case.
It’s even better to provide the TV with native 4K content, as no upscaling is needed. If the content also comes with an extended dynamic range, the 65E7NQ PRO is well-equipped, supporting HDR10, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), Dolby Vision IQ, and HDR10+. While the TV managed to display HDR content in a vivid and contrast-rich manner during testing, some limitations became apparent in challenging scenes, such as those with direct sunlight, due to its relatively low peak brightness of 507 nits (measured in “HDR Sport” mode).
“Affordable 4K QLED TV with top-notch gaming features”
Apart from that, the 65E7NQ PRO delivers excellent picture quality and excels in several areas that we often find lacking in other LCD TVs. The Direct LED backlight ensures even panel illumination and a deep black level. Whether streaming, using UHD Blu-rays, or watching linear UHD TV channels, the TV delivered very good images with high plasticity. The well-calibrated “Filmmaker Mode” is perfect for cinematic movie experiences in the evening. Even during the day, the viewer will still get a good picture on the slightly reflective VA display. The picture looks best when the viewer sits centrally in front of the TV, as colors and contrast can appear dull from side angles.
Thanks to the native 100/120 Hz panel, the picture remains sharp and stable even during fast-moving scenes like action sequences or sports broadcasts. The UHD TV handles 4K gaming at 144 Hz without any issues (assuming suitable hardware).
Sound is provided by an integrated 2.1 sound system with a total output of 40 watts. The speakers are dynamic and clean, even at high volumes. Spoken content remained clear and understandable throughout our practical test. Additionally, the built-in subwoofer delivers noticeable bass, suitable for everyday TV watching, occasional movies, or sports broadcasts. However, home cinema enthusiasts might still want to connect an AV receiver or soundbar for a more immersive audio experience, despite the TV’s Dolby Atmos support.
Economy and Speed
Our power consumption measurements showed values of 154.9 watts for SDR and 182.4 watts for HDR content. These measurements were taken in our recommended reference mode, which consumes more power than the default energy-saving mode. In standby mode, power consumption is 0.3 watts.
The TV exits standby in just two seconds. From normal standby, it takes four seconds, and from off, it only takes 14 seconds. Channel switching times across all reception paths are strong, with SD channels taking around 1.5 seconds and HD channels averaging 2.5 seconds.

Conclusion
In our practical test, the Hisense 65E7NQ PRO scored 91.4 points, earning a rating of “good”. This 4K QLED TV offers excellent picture quality and, thanks to support for four HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ, it is perfectly suited for high-quality content. Only its relatively low peak brightness slightly dampens the overall impression.
In terms of Smart TV features, there’s little to criticize, as modern, connected households will find a wealth of streaming services, hundreds of apps, and two integrated voice assistants to meet their needs. Nearly every relevant app is available in the app store. Furthermore, we find it particularly appealing to gamers due to the Game Bar, low latency, and support for refresh rates up to 144 Hz.
The Hisense 65E7NQ PRO is available for an attractive average price, offering excellent value for money, which is why we awarded it a top price/performance ratio rating.
